Making of MARANTÒ

An elegant room divider created from the revisiting of an ancient and suggestive curtain created at the beginning of the 20th century by a woman.
Mrs Marantò, with cleverness and patience, turned thousands pieces of scrap metal into small tubes connected to each other, creating a curtain for her husband’s shop. The elements of the curtain made noise by swinging to each other when a customer entered the shop.

Marantò is built in a traditional way, metal plates and wires are turned into a design object with an inimitable sculptural effect.

The cylindrical elements can be made of brass, copper and steel, bronze and stainless steel. The connecting hook is made of stainless steel.

It can be done by randomly alternating elements of different materials, creating a horizontal rhythm with a beginning, a development and an end, or repeating elements of the same material, creating a modular geometric scheme.
